Privacy Policy

PraiseTune is an app and service for musicians and worship teams, operated by Manuel Di Criscito, sole proprietorship, VAT no. IT14039020962 (Italy) ("PraiseTune", "we", "us"), the data controller for the purposes of this Privacy Policy. PraiseTune offers a free tier as well as paid Solo and Team plans.

This page explains what Personal Information we collect when you use the PraiseTune app and website, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices and rights you have.

By using PraiseTune, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. We do not sell your Personal Information, and we do not use your song lyrics, chords, setlists, or other content you create in the app ("User Content") for advertising, marketing, or AI training purposes — see "Your Content" below.

Information We Collect

Account data. To create an account we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information those providers share with us (such as your name and email). This is handled through Firebase Authentication.

Your Content. Songs, lyrics, chords, setlists, collections, notes, and attachments (images, PDFs, audio) that you create or upload are stored on our servers so they can sync across your devices and, where you choose to enable offline access, be cached on your device. This content is private and visible only to you, unless you deliberately share it — for example by joining or inviting members to a Team, or sharing a collection or setlist. (The public library is a separate, curated set of songs PraiseTune publishes directly with permission from artists and publishers; it is not content submitted by ordinary users.) We do not access, review, or use your private content except as needed to operate the service (e.g. technical support you request, or to investigate abuse/copyright reports).

Purchases. Subscriptions and one-time purchases (Solo, Team) are processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. We receive purchase and subscription status information (e.g. plan, renewal date) but never your full payment card details, which are handled directly by Apple/Google.

Usage and diagnostic data. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. On iOS, we also use the Meta (Facebook) SDK, subject to the App Tracking Transparency permission you can allow or deny, to run and measure our advertising campaigns on Meta/Instagram (for example to see whether someone who saw an ad installed the app). We use Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry to automatically collect crash reports and error logs, which may include device model, operating system version, app version, and the technical state of the app at the time of the crash. We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications, and Firebase Remote Config to enable/disable features. We also collect basic device and app information (via device_info_plus and package_info_plus) for support and compatibility purposes.

Your Content

You own your User Content. We only use it to provide the service to you (storage, sync, display) and to whoever you have explicitly chosen to share it with. We do not sell it, license it to third parties, or use it for advertising, marketing, or to train AI models, and we will not start doing so without asking for your separate, explicit consent first. See the EULA for the licence you grant us to operate the service.

Cookies

The PraiseTune mobile and desktop apps do not use cookies. Our website (praisetune.com) may use essential cookies required for it to function, and, where you consent, analytics cookies.

Service Providers

We share Personal Information with the following processors, only to the extent needed for the purpose listed:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config) — authentication, app analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, feature flags
• Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — social login
• Meta (Facebook App Events) — running and measuring our advertising campaigns on Meta/Instagram (iOS only, subject to App Tracking Transparency consent)
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management
• Sentry — error and crash monitoring
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for purchases and subscriptions

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where Personal Information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your account and User Content (songs, setlists, collections, attachments) are stored with Google Firebase, in Firebase's default service region. Your email address, in-app account identifier, and push-notification (Firebase Cloud Messaging) device token are also stored separately in a database on our own server, hosted in Germany. A full backup of that database is taken every night and stored with a separate external hosting provider.

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all communication between the app and our servers, and rely on the standard encryption-at-rest provided by our hosting and database providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; if we become aware of a security incident affecting your Personal Information, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain your account and User Content for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account in the app: your personal account data (email, profile, private content) is deleted immediately from our live systems. It may still exist for a short period inside our nightly database backups until those backups are rotated out.

Content you shared with a Team, such as collections, setlists, or songs made available to other Team members, is not deleted when you leave or delete your account, so that the other members do not lose access to it. That shared content keeps existing for the Team; it is no longer tied to your personal account. See the EULA for how Team administration continues if an administrator leaves.

Your Rights

If the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your Personal Information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account and content directly in the app (Settings > Delete Account), or contact us at support@praisetune.com for any other request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Independently of these rights, you can export your own songs and setlists at any time, directly from within the app, as PDF or ChordPro files, without needing to contact us.
