PDF to ChordPro, free.

Upload a PDF of a chord sheet or a songbook, or photos of the pages, and get a ChordPro file for every song with the chords above the lyrics.

Free · up to 20 pages at a time · 50 songs a month

How it works

  1. 1. Upload the PDF

A chord sheet, a songbook or photos of the pages, up to 20 pages at a time.

  2. 2. We read the pages

We pick out lyrics and chords and split the file into songs, one per song.

  3. 3. Download the ChordPro

One .cho file per song, to copy or download, or all of them together in a zip.

What you get

For every song a plain text .cho file: title, artist and key at the top, the name of each part, and the chords in square brackets right before the syllable where they change.

FAQ

Yes, all you need is a PraiseTune account, the same one as the app. We offer it for free so you can get to know PraiseTune. The limits (20 pages per conversion and 50 songs a month) are there to keep it free for everyone.

Up to 20 pages per conversion (one PDF or up to 20 photos), 30 MB per file, 50 songs a month and one conversion at a time. The song count resets on the first day of every month. For a longer songbook, use the PraiseTune app.

A PDF, or photos of the pages in JPG, PNG or WEBP. It works best with printed chord sheets and sharp, straight photos. Handwritten sheets often aren't read well.

We split them automatically: you get one ChordPro file per song, even when a song carries over to the next page. Download them one by one or all together in a zip.

Recognition is automatic and does most of the work for you, but it's worth checking each song against the original and fixing any chord that's out of place. Chords come out in letter notation (C, D, E…), and in PraiseTune you can also show them as Do, Re, Mi.

A plain text format for lyrics with chords, used by many apps for musicians. Chords sit in square brackets exactly where they change, for example [G]How great is our [D]God.

PraiseTune, where you can transpose them, project them and add them to a setlist, and any app that reads ChordPro, like OnSong and SongbookPro. They're plain text, so any text editor opens them too.

Yes. The converted songs are saved in your PraiseTune account: sign in to the app with the same account and you'll find them in your songs, ready to transpose, edit and add to a setlist.

The file you upload stays in your account together with the songs we get from it, and each song has its pages attached. The songs are private. You can delete everything whenever you want from "Your conversions": the conversion, its songs and the files are removed.

Here you start from a chord sheet you already have, as a PDF or photos, and it's free. With Audio to ChordPro you start from the song's audio, an MP3 or a video, and get lyrics and chords transcribed by listening to it. The first song is free, then you pay with credits, no subscription.

What if you only have the audio?

With Audio to ChordPro you upload an MP3 or a video of the song and get lyrics and chords in ChordPro.
