“How much does PraiseTune cost?” is the question we get asked the most. The honest answer is that it depends on how you use it. There isn’t one price for everyone, and that’s exactly what causes the confusion. Some people think it’s paid, full stop. Some don’t know a free version exists. Some subscribe to Team without realizing they’d be fine with a lot less.
This article covers what each plan includes, what it costs, and how to pick the right one.
The three plans in short
PraiseTune has three tiers.

- Solo, a one-time payment, pay once and it’s yours for good
- Team, a monthly or annual subscription, built for a group
These aren’t three different products. They’re three levels of the same tool, for different situations. The important part to understand is that Solo and Team aren’t “a little” and “a lot” on the same scale. They answer two different questions. Solo answers “I use the app on my own.” Team answers “I need to share songs and collections with other people.”
PraiseTune Free, what you can do without paying
With a free account you can already do a lot.
- Access the public song library of songs that are already set up
- View songs, collections and setlists other users share with you
- View attachments and custom keys shared by others
- Change key and chord notation while you play
- Use the editor to write your own songs
Free lets you use PraiseTune to read and play live without limits. What it doesn’t let you do is create and organize content without limits, or work offline. It’s the right plan if you want to try the app or look at what someone else shares.
PraiseTune Solo, a one-time payment for people who play on their own
Solo is built for one specific situation. You use the app by yourself, you don’t need to share anything with a group, and you don’t want a recurring subscription. You pay once and it’s yours for good, no renewals.
With Solo you unlock these things.
- Unlimited creation of songs, collections and setlists
- No ads
- Offline sync, with songs downloaded automatically so you can play without internet
- Metronome that starts on its own with the tempo already set for each song
- Private attachments, upload PDFs, images or audio files to your songs
- Saved custom keys for every song
- Text customization in the song view
- Desktop app for Windows and Mac, handy for writing and organizing songs from your computer
What Solo doesn’t include is sharing with a group. Collections, setlists and attachments stay private, visible only to you. If all you need is to organize your own repertoire, maybe you play solo or you just prefer handling things on your own, Solo is all you need. You’re not paying for a subscription you’d never fully use.
PraiseTune Team, one subscription, the whole group
Team solves a different problem, getting several people to work on the same songs, collections and setlists. It’s a subscription, monthly or annual, with the annual plan discounted 8%. But there’s a part people often get wrong. One person pays and manages the subscription, and every other member of the group gets full access without paying anything.
If you’re the worship leader or the one organizing the group, you subscribe once and invite your team. They join for free and immediately get everything from Solo, metronome, offline, attachments, desktop app, custom keys, plus the team-only features.

What Team costs, tiers by number of members
Team’s price depends on how many members are in the group, not on who uses it more or less.

You can change tier whenever you want, if the group grows or shrinks. You can choose monthly or annual billing, with 8% off on annual. The subscription applies to one specific group. If you manage several groups, say more than one church or band, each one needs its own Team subscription.
Which plan to choose
Don’t ask yourself how much you want to spend. Ask yourself whether you need to share content with other people, or whether you play and organize on your own.
- If you’re just exploring the app or want to see what others share, choose Free
- If you organize your own repertoire and nobody else needs access to it, choose Solo, a one-time payment
- If you lead a group, a band or a team of musicians who need to see and edit the same collections and setlists, choose Team, one subscription that covers every member
A common mistake is thinking every member of the group needs their own Team subscription. That’s not how it works. One Team subscription covers the whole group, up to the number of members allowed by the tier you picked. It costs less than it looks at first, because it’s split across everyone who benefits from it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use PraiseTune for free forever? Yes. The Free account stays free with no expiration. You can view the public library, content shared with you, and use the editor, but without unlimited creation, offline access or the metronome.
Is Solo a subscription? No. Solo is a one-time payment. You pay once and it’s yours for good, no automatic renewals, no expiration.
If I subscribe to Team, do the members of my group have to pay too? No. One person pays for and manages the Team subscription. Every invited member gets full access for free, including everything from Solo.
What happens if my group grows past the tier I picked? You can upgrade to a higher tier whenever you want, right from the app. You only pay the prorated difference for the time left on the subscription.
Can I have both Solo and Team? If you’re part of a team as an invited member, you already have access to everything Solo offers through the team, no need to buy it separately. Solo only makes sense as its own purchase if you’re not part of any subscribed team.
How do I subscribe to Team? In the app, tap “Upgrade to Team” on the subscription screen. Pick the group, or create a new one, the tier based on member count, and monthly or annual billing.
